Repair Unsightly Cracks With Concrete Leveling

When concrete slabs settle unevenly, you will soon see the results: large cracks, uneven surfaces, and, if left unfixed, perhaps even crumbling concrete. Before the cracking becomes so severe that you must replace the entire slab, fix it with concrete lifting.

Inserting the mudjacking slurry for concrete lifting

Sunken and uneven concrete can become an unsightly tripping hazard at your home or business. Save time and money when you use Alliance Inc. to lift your concrete rather than eventually having to replace the entire slab (which might fall victim to the same problem).

Concrete lifting with mudjacking is the perfect choice for these and other applications:

  • Decks
  • Driveways
  • Sidewalks
  • Garage floor slabs
  • Porches

Why is My Concrete Sinking?

The concrete was most likely initially poured onto soil that was not optimal, not compacted down incorrectly, or had erosion.

As the weight of the concrete presses down on the soil, it settles either by its weight compacting the soil or the soil shifting to fill voids left by erosion.

If the settlement is small and uniform, the whole slab will sink slightly without causing a big problem. Unfortunately, concrete rarely seems to sink uniformly.

As portions of the concrete sink more than others, this stresses the concrete, causing unsightly cracks and creating a distinctly unlevel surface.

What is Concrete Lifting with Mudjacking?

With mudjacking, we inject a slurry underneath your slab in the settled portions. As it accumulates, the slurry presses up on the bottom of the concrete, lifting it back to its original condition.

Any holes that were used to inject the mudjacking slurry are then filled.

It is a fairly quick process, certainly faster than replacing the sidewalk, driveway, or deck with new concrete. It is also less expensive than full concrete replacement.

What Mudjacking Isn’t

Mudjacking is designed to lift and level concrete—that’s it. It is not a concrete repair solution.

The cracks will still exist, but they will no longer pose a tripping hazard, and they will be less noticeable and unsightly than when they were uneven.

Mudjacking also isn’t a cure-all if your concrete is already crumbling. If the concrete is too damaged to withstand lifting, your only option may be concrete replacement.
